It kind of feels like 2020 has been an absolute roller coaster of dodgeball played with live munitions. We were doing ok and then coming into the home stretch of the year is seems we got hit a few times.

I came down with something really nasty in October and although I tested negative for Covid, a 104.3 F fever on and off for days is just hideous. I was literally one day away from canceling the Seattle Roasting Seminar.

Then myself, our Director of operations Rebecca and our awesome order processor Madie all headed out for the Northwest Chocolate Festival and my two Roasting Seminars…..and the later two left sick, looking and feeling like death warmed over.

Of course I jumped in with Roast Master Noah (Madie also rocks the Roaster) to process and pack ordered…..which rather put us a little behind. Thanks to all of you understanding and awesome cusntoers for your patience as our turn around time drifted out a little bit.

And then, once Madie and Rebecca were mostly back in the saddle, what the hell do you know but I succumbed a second time to sometime nasty again, this time with an oh so lovely (NOT) chest wheezing and coughing and hacking….oh, and more fun fever chills.

And now we are all back healthy and here comes the holidays.

All that is by way of saying I’ve been remiss on making some announcements of products, our holiday schedule and some upcoming beans.

First off, please check out our Holiday Calendar. It will be handy as the holiday shipping madness descends. Just remember, poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part….but stuff does come up and if we can help you out of a bind, do ask. We’ll do what we can.

The biggest ball I dropped was letting everyone know that Cocoa butter Silk is back. If you have not given it a try for tempering, you really should. It is just amazing.

Belize Organic 2022 is in…. and has been but I didn’t announce it.

Next up is Dominican Republic Zorzal, 2022. It is a tiny bit more reserved flavor wise but still super consistent and balance.

We were also out of Oat powder for a bit and it is now back in stock.

Now some things to look forward to.

Coming up after the Thanksgiving break is a VERY limited supply of Fiji Rakiraki 2022. Due to the incredibly small lot we got there will be no wholesale available because I want to spread the joy.

In December we have landing a brand new Wild Harvest Bolivia - Rio Beni and the new crop of Heirloom Tranquilidad.

And finally we have shifted our supply of Columbia Arauca 2022 and it is now Direct Trade - thank you so much Carlos. It has landed and should also be available after Thanksgiving, and due to fewer hands in the proverbial pie (crossing our fingers about final shipping costs) costs should be lower and I will be passing that on to you. Yep, lower not higher prices during this time of inflection.

For both the new Rio Beni (when it arrives) and the Arauca and of course any other beans we sell wholesale, don’t forget we offer Evaluation Samples. You need only reach out.
